Cafe Jazz gig number one went particularly well considering the lack of communication, the poor sound system and short notice.

I think the sort notice was in our favour because it made us work harder. I was really impressed with the other guys attitude in the band and really enjoyed working with them. They were really attentive during the set , they watched for my signals and listened out for each other and I think we pulled it off 🙂 

We had lots of compliments and even found that people were coming in off the street as they could hear us.

I have another one coming up with a completely different set of band members and a different set of songs….more about that at a later date.

Tomorrow we have the opportunity to have the year 2 music tech students record a track for us.
We have decided to do Purple Haze, one because it’s fairly easy, two because we are also doing to do it at our next cafe jazz gig and three because we ran out of time and that seemed like the best of what we had.

We’ve only had one rehearsal for the song and I don’t think we are completely ready to go into the studio tomorrow which makes me a bit nervous because I don’t want to be wasting anyone’s time.

I’ve done what I can, I’ve learnt my part and recorded it and sent it to the other vocalist so that she knows what I will be doing. That way she can practice around my part.

I’m sure it will be fine….
